Alps 2003 - # - kirjoittaessani's Photos

In 2002, a friend of mine got a GPS receiver as a gift when he completed his PhD. He thought that it needed testing, so he, his sister, and me made a tour of the Valais (and a tiny bit of Italy) in 2003. I have about 200 photos, but it will take some time to upload them all.
I have started to write a much more detailed story in my blog.

This is where we rested during our ascent from Zinal (1675m) to the Cabane de Tracuit (3256m).

Lac de Moiry (2249m) as seen from the north-east. Starting in Zinal, we've crossed westwards below the Corne de Sorebois.

Pas de Lona in the morning sun; it connects Val de Moiry in the east and Val d'Hérence in the west.

Leaving Les Hauderes, we made for Italy. We did not expect to be able to buy any food for several days, so our packs were a little heavier that day. It is amazing how noticeable two or three kilograms extra are.

Still very close to Evolène.

This is pretty much the centre of Arolla, the last village on the Swiss side of the pass.
